Signs Your Water Tank Is Leaking (and How to Check)

· 1 min read

A leaking tank can go unnoticed for months while it wastes water, raises bills and weakens foundations.

Warning signs

  • Higher water bills with no change in use.
  • Damp or salt deposits near the tank.
  • The pump or float valve running constantly.
  • Changes in water colour or smell.
  • Settling or cracks in the floor above an underground tank.

A simple test

  1. Close the inlet valve and stop using water.
  2. Mark the water level.
  3. Check again after 12–24 hours.

A clear drop means a leak. The lasting fix is cleaning, crack repair and a food-grade epoxy lining — see water tank waterproofing or contact us.
